Compassionate York Region

ABOUT THE PROJECT

2023-present

Heather joined Compassionate York Region (CYR) soon after it was created in 2021. CYR is part of the global movement “The Charter for Compassion”.

CYR is dedicated to spreading compassion through initiatives that build a stronger and more connected community.

Although Heather has moved to Wellington County, Ontario, she remains on the CYR team. She hopes to ignite a local compassionate team in her new community.

Heather's Involvement

Heather had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Martin Luther King lll. In the video below, they discuss bringing community together based on Mr. King’s father Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “beloved community” philosophy, and Mr. and Mrs. King’s initiative “Realizing the Dream”.
