The‌ ‌Heather‌ ‌Skoll‌ ‌Community‌ ‌Engagement‌ ‌Grant‌ ‌(HSCEG)‌ ‌was‌ ‌born‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌Heather’s‌ ‌passion‌ ‌and‌ ‌commitment‌ ‌to‌ ‌supporting‌ ‌her‌ ‌community.‌ Heather‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌committed‌ ‌citizen‌ ‌of‌ ‌York‌ ‌Region, who ‌has‌ ‌always‌ ‌been‌ ‌a‌ ‌proactive‌ ‌and‌ ‌involved‌ ‌member‌ ‌of‌ ‌her‌ ‌community.‌ ‌Through‌ ‌her‌ ‌work‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌youth‌ ‌organization‌ ‌We‌ ‌Can‌ ‌Change‌ ‌the‌ ‌World‌ ‌Day,‌ ‌to‌ ‌her‌ ‌passion‌ ‌for‌ ‌supporting‌ ‌youth‌ ‌mentorship‌ ‌with‌ ‌Gap‌ ‌Gen,‌ ‌Heather‌ ‌connects‌ ‌people‌ ‌with‌ ‌their‌ ‌community‌ ‌in‌ ‌ways‌ ‌that‌ ‌will‌ ‌improve ‌our‌ ‌world.‌ ‌After‌ ‌having‌ ‌experienced‌ ‌first‌ ‌hand‌ ‌the‌ ‌challenges‌ ‌and‌ ‌obstacles‌ ‌that‌ ‌come‌ ‌with‌ ‌starting‌ ‌a‌ ‌new‌ ‌community‌ ‌initiative,‌ ‌Heather‌ ‌knew‌ ‌she‌ ‌wanted‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌‌helping‌ ‌others‌‌ ‌easier!

This‌ ‌grant‌ ‌enables‌ ‌start-up‌ ‌community‌ ‌organizations‌ ‌to‌ ‌get‌ ‌their‌ ‌feet‌ ‌off‌ ‌the‌ ‌ground‌ ‌with‌ ‌their‌ ‌community‌ ‌initiative‌ ‌by‌ ‌providing‌ ‌non-refundable‌ ‌grants.‌

The‌ ‌Heather‌ ‌Skoll‌ ‌Community‌ ‌Engagement‌ ‌Grant‌ ‌will‌ ‌fund‌ ‌local‌ ‌community‌ ‌initiatives‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌York‌ ‌Region‌ ‌with‌ ‌grants‌ ‌ranging‌ ‌between‌ ‌$500.00‌ ‌up‌ ‌to‌ ‌$1000.‌ ‌The‌ ‌grant‌ ‌is‌ ‌allocated‌ ‌for‌ ‌organizations‌ ‌and‌ ‌initiatives‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌space‌ ‌of‌ ‌youth‌ ‌work,‌ ‌holistic‌ ‌wellness,‌ ‌and‌ ‌community‌ ‌engagement.‌

To‌ ‌be‌ ‌considered‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌recipient‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌grant,‌ ‌applicants‌ ‌are‌ ‌invited‌ ‌to‌ ‌fill‌ ‌out‌ ‌the‌ ‌HSCEG‌ ‌application‌ ‌form‌ ‌where‌ ‌they‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌asked‌ ‌to‌ ‌share‌ ‌more‌ ‌about‌ ‌their‌ ‌initiative‌ ‌and‌ ‌financial‌ ‌needs.‌
